Ustekinumab STELARA®

WILL I USE ANY OTHER DRUGS ALONGSIDE IT?

Combining ustekinumab with an immunosuppressant drug such as Azathioprine or Methotrexate may be helpful for some people with IBD.

Some evidence for older biologic medications such as infliximab does show that combotherapy can reduce the formation of antibodies (proteins that attack and inactivate the drug), reduce the likelihood of an infusion reaction, and increase the chance of achieving remission.

However, studies also have suggested that combination therapy may increase the risk of side effects.

This is something to discuss with your IBD doctor in the planning of your treatment.
