Methotrexate

Methotrexate is used to induce or maintain remission for CD if you keep having relapses while on standard treatments for IBD, such as aminosalicylates (5-ASAs) and steroids, or if you have had an adverse reaction to either azathioprine or 6-mercaptopurine.

Occasionally, it is used to treat UC, but there is there less evidence of its effectiveness for this condition.
